While it may not be a Microsoft support form, Microsoft does monitor and also comments frequently on simpler issues in many of the threads.
I agree with you concerning ratio of those it works for vs those it doesn't determines urgency.
Vendors will not help you with software. If you purchase desktop or laptop, they support system ( hardware ) not software. They may look at issue and see if it's user error or something simple, but that's it...

The way systems are being designed and direction industry is going to is:
a. put all your data in cloud
b. put os images in cloud
c. you only need physical device to boot from
d. all your data is in cloud
e. if system dies, or worst
f. there will always be some reserved boot item in bios
g. which will allow you to connect to cloud and reimage your drive
h. then download all your data again including configurations
