Error: 0x800F0922 when installing KB 2919355

This error may appear for multiple reasons. Some common causes are VPN clients and an unexpected System Reserved Partition size.

Try removing any VPN Clients and attempt the update again.

You might be able to fix this problem by using third-party software to increase the size of the System Reserved partition.

If you have tried both solutions and you still experience Error 0x800F0922 please contact Microsoft Support so that we can further investigate your issue.

I refuse to arrange a support call with Microsoft and waste three hours only to be informed that they will need to reformat my machine, leaving me to re-install everything again. I guess my only option is to continue waiting patiently for someone at Microsoft to figure out how they managed to screw things up so royally.

Yes! Don't waste time on the phone.  I got frustrated and tried calling these guys.  They clearly have no idea what is causing this problem and will literally waste hours of your time with banal tasks, uninstalling all kinds of stuff, turning off silly registry keys - totally shooting in the dark.  Eventually after your system is all hacked up you will be told to do a fresh install.

This is a known problem without a known solution - M$ needs to spend some time and fix the darn patch already.

To be clear, you aren't unpatched at this time.  All security updates through June are being released both with and without versions for KB2919355.

The only patches you are missing are ones that specifically post KB2919355 (one is fixing a hibernation issue introduced by KB2919355).

I can't say they aren't taking this seriously.  The revised KB2919355 shows they are.  I can say they aren't taking this as seriously as everyone in this thread would like (nor I).  I can only say that I'm sorry and understand your frustration.

I think he is unpatched at this time.  I have not been able to install any updates since KB**355.

You do realize I wrote that a month ago.  :-)  At the time it was a correct statement. Now anyone without 2919355 are unpatched.
