Error: 0x800F0922 when installing KB 2919355

This error may appear for multiple reasons. Some common causes are VPN clients and an unexpected System Reserved Partition size.

Try removing any VPN Clients and attempt the update again.

You might be able to fix this problem by using third-party software to increase the size of the System Reserved partition.

If you have tried both solutions and you still experience Error 0x800F0922 please contact Microsoft Support so that we can further investigate your issue.

    What exactly are you using to install 8.1?  That error only occurs on the microsoft.com download tool, which no longer works.

    That error is impossible to reproduce on an actual 8.1 installation ISO because it is pre-programmed to accept generic keys for 8.1.  The generic key must match the version of Windows 8.1 you're trying to install [Core/Home, Pro, Enterprise, etc.), but the error you're getting cannot be from an actual 8.1 installation media, as the 8.1 installer does not connect to the internet to verify PKs, it is pre-programmed to accept certain keys.

    This no longer works.

    There are two possible reasons for this:

    1. Microsoft has disabled the tool from accepting PKs due to every Win8 user being upgraded to 8.1. New customers purchasing Windows 8 would be upgrading from the store and not from this tool.
    2. A Windows 8 activation key can only be used once within the 8 installer, after that, the user will need to use a generic key to install Windows 8/8.1.

    I have tried installing the update so many time, every time same error. I have no VPN clients installed  in my system and i think i have plenty of GB spaces in C drive, I'm just a frustrated windows 8.1 user. Making just cases won't help us get serious about the problem cuz even after complete reinstall of windows and then installed all the required KB updates & the results was same error  0x8000F0922.

    Did you ever find a solution to your problem? I have had the same experience. After trying to install KB2919355 for a month I finally gave up and re-installed my OEM Windows 8 from rescue discs. In the process of attempting to update it back up to where I was I am getting the same 800R0922 error code I was getting before the re-install. Up until the point I attempted to update to KB2919355 I had NEVER had an Windows update fail to install so the only conclusion I can reach is that KB2919355 is the culprit.

    I used the file Jim134 posted. OSGS14-WindowsSetupBox-32bitand64bit-English-4141408.exe. I'm not sure where to get a reliable iso of 8.1 core.
