After having tried at least a dozen times to install KB2919355, always without any success, I followed the published suggestions, i. e.
- ran SFC
- removed the KB2919355 package from the cache
- ran DISM to clean up the component cache
After a reboot , I tried to install KB2919355 manually using the downloaded MSU file.
This ended again in "We couldn't complete the update. Undoing changes..."
I then looked a the file "ReportingEvents.log" in c:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution.
It said that the error encountered was "0x800F0922".
So, I followed the suggestions in this forum and checked:
- whether I had a VPN adapter: this was not the case
- the size of my System Reserved partition: it was 350 MB in size and had only 41 MB left.
Expecting that lack of space could be the culprit, I increased the size by 200 MB to get the partition to 550 MB, using an offline partitioning tool.
Having done this, I tried again to install KB 2919355, this time using WU.
It ran through and unfortunately ended again with the message "We couldn't complete the update. Undoing changes..."
I am desperate, not knowing what I could try else.
Is Microsoft really not able to get this fixed? We all lose dozens of hours trying to get this boggy update installed, so I guess it's time that Microsoft brings up a solution!!!!!
