windows 8.1 clock running fast post update

Since I have updated to windows 8.1 the clock is running, I have had to reset the date and time every day off by several hours, some times by a couple of days, I did not have any problems before I updated.  I have  an ACER W510 tablet

    to do in the meantime as a temporary solution ?

    Try opening the registy editor and changing the following two settings to 1000000 decimal:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\W32Time\Config\MaxPosPhaseCorrection

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\W32Time\Config\MaxNegPhaseCorrection

    After updating my HP Envy X2 11 to Win 8.1 I encountered the clock problem. In my case I found that the time remains accurate if I leave the computer on. I can also restart it repeatedly and the time is OK, but if I power it off, wait a few minutes, and turn it on again, most of the time (but not always) the clock will jump ahead by a random amount of time, anywhere from a few minutes to many hours.

    I have an HP ENVY X2Model Number 11-g012nr,  the incorrect time problem happens several times a week.  It's very annoying!

    My sources say fix is undergoing validation and it will be pushed out on Windows update soon (6 to 8 weeks max) if everything goes as planned.
