Please test whether this is the cause of your problems by uninstalling Adobe Dreamweaver. To uninstall select Start, Control Panel, Programs and Features, right click on Adobe Dreamweaver and select Uninstall on the drop down menu. When you have tested please let me know what affect uninstalling has had? If it resolves the problem it is for you to decide whether to reinstall on completing the test or whether to wait for the bug to be fixed.

I unistalled Registry Reviver, AVG PC TuneUp 2014 and Slim Cleaner as you requested.

Hard booting may not be the best way to resolve freezes (in fact it is barbarous way) but what do you do when the keyboard and mouse are frozen and the only option is either to pull the plug or press the power button? These are the kinds of freezes i experience. Nothing responds and there is no sweet way out but the barbarous way.

I never had to treat a computer like this before with XPs or earlier OSes.

Today i had 4 or 5 freezes while browsing a newspaper on IE, then while on idle, then on startup etc etc until the evil somehow abated allowing me to write this message to you until the next time and this is the story of this PC.

I have examined your Event Viewer System log and have made a note of a number of points which need looking into. You overlooked the Application log and would you please upload a copy to your Sky Drive.

The System Information file was incomplete. It seems that you may have opened the file and placed the cursor within the report, and this has resulted in the capture of part of the report. A less likely explanation is that you did not wait long enough for the compilation of the file to complete. If you follow my earlier instructions exactly you should be able to upload a complete copy of the file.

You have three programmes installed that I would not allow on any computer under my control. These are Registry Reviver, AVG PC TuneUp 2014 and Slim Cleaner. Using this type of software brings negligible benefits and you risk creating very difficult to resolve system errors. I recommend removal by selecting Start, Control Panel, Programs and Features. Right click on the programme and select Uninstall from the drop down list.

You have installed cCleaner. This is fine but you would be advised not to use the Registry Cleaner component.

2658 events show up in event viewer

The number reports on Events does not matter. It is the content that matters. Most reports just record routine events. What matters is whether you are experiencing recurring errors and what these mean! When you have provided the further information we can start to look for solutions.

Hard booting is not the best way to resolve freezes. You should not press the Power button to resolve freezes. Pressing the Power button can corrupt files and lead to system error. Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+Esc to bring up Task Manager and click on the Applications tab. Place the cursor on a running application to select it and click on the End Task button. As the application is removed from the list repeat the procedure on the next application in the list until all are gone from the list or until the freeze is resolved.

Hi, i did run ADWcleaner which seemed to help temporarily.

What i have done:

I have reinstalled windows 7

Updated all device drivers from Device Manager

Installed all the latest Microsoft updates

I have run Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware, AVG and several cleaners CCleaner, SlimCleaner, RegistryReviver etc.

Clean booted

I run System File Checker - sfc /scannow

run memcheck86

I blew the laptop vents off with a blower

I still experience freezes and 2658 events show up in event viewer.

Just before i write this text i had to hard boot twice.

My system is an HP pavilion DV8  Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU  Q 720  @ 1.60GHz, 1600 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s) running Windows 7 64bit Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601 (product ID 00359-OEM-8992687-00010)

I split your message from the thread you posted to as it is an old thread.  Many contributors stay away from old threads so starting a new thread gives you a better chance of receiving help.

Please provide a copy of your System Information file. Type System Information in the Search Box above the start Button and press the ENTER key (alternative is Select Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Information). Select File, Export and give the file a name noting where it is located. The system creates a new System Information file each time system information is accessed. You need to allow a minute or two for the file to be fully populated before exporting a copy. Please upload to your Sky Drive, share with everyone and post a link here. Please say if the report has been obtained in safe mode.

Please upload and share with everyone copies of your System and Application logs from your Event Viewer to your Sky Drive and post a link here.

To access the System log select Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer, from the list in the left side of the window select Windows Logs and System. Place the cursor on System, select Action from the Menu and Save All Events as (the default evtx file type) and give the file a name. Do the same for the Applications log. Do not provide filtered files.
