Error: 0x80070003 when installing KB 2919355

I'm not criticizing your knowledge or skills, as you have far more knowledge about Windows than I do, I'm simply saying Microsoft is incorrect on this front.

Give me a few hours and I'll post back what updates as I had cleared my windows update cache, which cleared the update history.  However, for the sake of getting the 11 patches, I've done a second install repair.

As it stands, the 11 patches in question do not become available on Windows Update until after KB2919355 is installed successfully (not the 5 standalones included within the 2919355 package, but the actual 2919355 update itself).  Other users have also posted the same information, that upon a successful install of 2919355, 11 patches become available on Windows Update.  On the other thread we conversed, JustinAcklin (I think that's his screen name, however the last name may be off a bit) reported the same thing once he was able to successfully install 2919355.

Let's just say for the sake of argument that these updates are available in standalone form for users without KB2919355 installed, the average user will not know which updates to search for as they expect their updates to come... well... via Windows Update.

Microsoft can say to their blue in the face they're not withholding patches, however this simply is not the facts.  The more experienced users and moderators say they're not withholding any patches, the more people seem to believe it, as the longer a non-factual point is expressed, the more likely it is for it to be taken as fact.

This is not a case where users are simply not installing these patches prior to the KB2919355 install, as users have been instructed to install all updates except 2919355, then when there are none left but 2919355, to install it.

If I happen to be wrong about anything I've posted, I have no problem admitting it and when it has been brought to my attention that I posted something wrong, I apologize and do my best to find all prior postings on the subject and edit them to show the correct information.  I could care less if I'm right or wrong about something, I simply want the facts to be available to everyone, as facts matter.

I have a machine that can't get 2919355 installed.  Assuming that WU otherwise functions (granted that may be an if), they will be offered up the rest of the security updates for both May and June as there are versions both with and without the need for 2919355. 

They get offered up via Windows update automatically, there is no 'hunting down' of updates needed. 

I have systems with and without and I'm not seeing patches withheld.

Again, list the KBs please?

As I stated previously, I will post the kb numbers in a few hours as I cleared the update cache and needed to do a repair install to grab the kb numbers.

There's a few simply questions here that should be thought about...

1. If all patches and updates are available without the need of kb2919355 being installed, then what 11 patches are only appearing after successfully installing 2919355?
2. What's more likely, that I and other users are imagining 11 patches showing up only after kb2919355 is installed, or that there are actually 11 patches that only show up once kb2919355 is installed?

As I stated above, there are some non security updates that get offered up that would not be needed on a non KB2919355 system and not offered on a non KB2919355 system.  http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;2965065 for example is post KB2919355.

As I recall off the top of my head, certain updates have to get reinstalled now that KB2919355 is installed.  I think it was the IE update that was offered up before 2919355 is installed and then after 2919355 is installed.

I apologize, I definitely misread that in your post on page 3.  I'm not sure how I missed that, but I did.

This has never been about me being right and you being wrong, as I 've said, you know far more about Windows than I do, and I respect that.  You had asked twice for the KB #'s, once on this thread and once on the other thread, and someone else had also asked what the 11 were.  Since I cleared my update cache, it deleted the update history, which prevented me from listing the 11 patches that became available.  However, the question about which 11 are offered after 2919355 is a very good question, and I thought it was worth the time to do another repair install so I could provide the information you and others have been requesting.

Also, I know you mentioned about not have an 8.1 iso... what version of Windows are you running?  If you have 8.1 Pro x64, I can upload the ISO I grabbed from the 8.1 installer when I went from 8 to 8.1.
