I got following error message while I log in to my windows account and only my account.
I tried to set Windows Live ID sign-In Assistant to manual start in Windows Services. it only works one time, once I start using Windows Live mail and log out and log back in then I get error messaged again. I tried to msconfig and uncheck Windows Live IS Sign-In that I do not see error message, but Windows Live Mail cannot launch,
I use Windows 7 Home Premium version.
It looks like that it has something with Windows Live mail,
Your help and information is great appreciated,
Regards,
Souris,
Here is error message,
There was a problem that caused parts of the Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant to be disabled. You might not be able to sign in to Windows Live in some programs. The problem may have been caused by a program that was recently installed. For more information, please go to: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkId=144689

Hi Souris,
Thank you for providing the log files we have requested. Please be informed that I have re-escalated this issue to our Support Specialist for further investigation. We will inform you on this thread as soon as we get a feedback.
Your Patience is highly appreciated.
Thank you.
I have the same problem.
I chatted with Microsoft and they told me it was a virus and my choice was to pay either 149.00 or 99.00 for support from Microsoft to fix the problem.
This is type of customer service is what really angers Microsoft product owners.
I mentioned that nobody on this forum mentioned a virus and Microsoft support said "then they don't know what they are talking about because I have worked for Microsoft for 10 years."
yes that is a quote from microsoft chat support. they essentially are holding us hostage. i think it is a disgusting business practice. and if it is true then they do know the source of the problem and know the fix.
Thanks for the message,
ok, it is a virus,
Can you please advise how I can contact Microsoft to fix the issue?
Is it a serious virus? any damage to the system?
Should I just re install the Windows to fix?
Regards,
Souris,
The Support Centre is just chasing money. The (faceless) support person you talked to doesn't have a clue. Having worked in the Support environment for over 15 years I know that many of the support staff make (un)educated guesses and are just chasing budget dollars as per the dictate from their supervision. I adjusted some settings (see much earlier in the post) and haven't had a problem since. I run Microsoft Essentials and Live programs without issue.
