Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant to be disabled

I got following error message while I log in to my windows account and only my account.

I tried to set Windows Live ID sign-In Assistant to manual start in Windows Services. it only works one time, once I start using Windows Live mail and log out and log back in then I get error messaged again. I tried to msconfig and uncheck Windows Live IS Sign-In that I do not see error message, but  Windows Live Mail cannot launch,

I use Windows 7 Home Premium version.

It looks like that it has something with Windows Live mail,

    can some one confirm it is a virus or not, because I only got the error message on one of my Windows 7?

    it does not happen to all of my Windows 7 machines.

    Hi, personally I doubt it is a virus because (hopefully) Microsoft would have reacted more quickly if they thought that was the case... but I am no expert....so if in doubt...

    In order to get rid of this annoying message I uninstalled Windows Live Essentials, but retained Microsoft Security Essentials.  Even so, the slow response from Microsoft beggars belief.

    An examination of the event logs on my machine reveals that this error began cropping up on my notebook back on 8/19, with the first instance being at 11:18AM, following a restart four minutes earlier.  The immediate previous system change preceding that restart was the installation of Windows Defender Definition 1.181.42.0 (KB915597) at 4:19AM.  That update did not force a restart, but took effect following the next restart... which came at 11:14AM, roughly seven hours later.

    The system change previous to that was the installation of the latest version of HP Update Manager on 8/17, but there were several restarts between that installation and the onset of the problem.  For this reason, I'd rule out the possibility that the HP product is responsible, just as I would rule out the next series of updates (on 8/21, including Java SE and the latest Windows Update Engine) as responsible for the problem.

    Can any one from Microsoft to confirm it is not a virus issue and it is a Windows update issue?

    I would like to know any update for this?

    Does Microsoft receive my log and event files I upload?
