I got following error message while I log in to my windows account and only my account.

I tried to set Windows Live ID sign-In Assistant to manual start in Windows Services. it only works one time, once I start using Windows Live mail and log out and log back in then I get error messaged again. I tried to msconfig and uncheck Windows Live IS Sign-In that I do not see error message, but  Windows Live Mail cannot launch,

I use Windows 7 Home Premium version.

It looks like that it has something with Windows Live mail,

Your help and information is great appreciated,

Regards,

Souris,

    I did as you suggested.

Did you manage to install that version, or did the installer tell you that you had a newer version, or did you notice that the download was for v.2011 and so not bother with it?

I have been trying unsuccessfully to correlate the file versions for the WLID Sign-in Assistant with the version of the installer. On my W7 x64 machine, wlidsvc.exe is version 7.250.4311.0 modified 17.07.2012 while Windows Essentials is build 16.4.3528.0331. The version of the installer at Michelle's link is 15.4.3538.0513 compiled on 13.05.2011, so this can't include the version I already have installed unless the only change is to the build number and modification date. This is not unlikely, since Windows (Live) Essentials files have always been re-released with new build numbers at each update regardless of whether any change was made to them or not.

If anyone watching this thread has Windows Live Essentials v.2011 installed, it would be interesting to see what the file version of wlidsvc.exe is. To find out, locate the file at

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Windows Live\WLIDSVC.EXE

then right-click on it and select Properties. The file version is given on the Details tab.

    Michelle -

I did as you suggested. The download is for the 2011 version. I have a newer version already installed.

Why would you have us download an older version?
