Hey all. I recently bought a Surface Pro 2. I later bought a Surface Arc Mouse. Long story short, I had to return my Surface. So, as of now I am on my laptop and I cannot get my laptop's bluetooth to discover my mouse (it's in discovery mode).
I tried googling around and couldn't find anything. Am I stuck?

Researched the various hardware for the various Lenovo models, downloaded the driver and called the help desk to get an Admin to install, it works just fine on the T540p running Windows 7 Pro. Still seems like an optimal situation for a QR code on the box, or a few words about hardware / OS compatibility.
People keep beating the "This is a special edition for the surface" but the PC specific one has the same limitation. No Win7 support. Disappointing as hell. Guess its time to go back to Logitech Mice. What a waste of $$$. Nobody would think to ensure that Win7 is supported while looking at specs because you would think it would be a given....

Their ad use in the online store (non-Microsoft) is misleading. They place the mouse with a normal laptop not Surface. And the description says compatible with most of the laptops and even big numbers of Android devices.
I have the same problem. Got the surface arc mouse and I found is not compatible with W7. However I also have a Macbook and I it is compatible with Mac. So Microsoft makes HW not compatible with their own operating systems but Apple does?.... I´m feel so stupid to buy a non compatible mouse, I think I will stay away from microsoft products....they are garbage.

Thank god someone else finally feels the same as me. I wanted this mouse for about 6 months before my wife purchased it for me for Christmas. It does NOT say SurfaceArc Touch mouse, not on the box, not in the manual, not on my receipt... no where. I wanted this mouse because all of the reviews led me to believe it would be just as fun and universally usable as any other wireless mouse with a dongle.... Not so much.
Let me start by saying that I am so fed up with Microsoft since Mr. Gates left and the direction Microsoft has taken Windows is so frustrating. I never used to care what Microsoft was upto, but that was a time when they were giving us all decent products and our own choices in software or drivers... Here I am in third year Computer Science classes telling off all my friends who diss Microsoft because I have owned every version of Windows since Windows 3.1 when I was 8 years old. Now I feel silly because they were right.... I have had problem after problem which I will not detail here since it would take days to read about their terrible support team. I digress....
I got a brand new laptop for Christmas as well. Acer E15, nice laptop, nice price, awesome. Right? Wrong.... it was purchased FOR me because all the specs I asked my wife for were there, HOWEVER, no one mentioned that it was literally built as a solid Windows 8 machine. Here I am, coming from the days where it was normal to use your favorite Windows OS version, even if it was a few versions behind, since all the support and drivers could be found SOMEWHERE.... nope. This laptop (I have come to learn it's now all new laptops not just this model) is so married to Windows 8 that the drivers for Windows 7 don't even exist on the manufacturers sites!! Thats DISGUSTING! It's taken me over 6 months but I have tracked down every last driver that is NOT meant for my laptop but that will allow devices inside to at least talk to one another. Insane. So furious. Anyway, this Arc Touch Mouse put me over the edge. It took me a month of looking through out dated drivers just to find one that would allow me to use my new mouse.
So... I switched to Linux last week and I think Microsoft and I are officially over until they stop this insanely bs way of approaching their customers. The customer is no longer always correct, they are talked down to, talked in circles to and very under appreciated...
What's the saddest part of this entire thing? That someone just as lame from the Microsoft Support Center will most likely respond to this post with an even more annoying post, explaining how it's my fault and that clearly it says somewhere on something that I made all the wrong decisions with my products and that Windows 8 is the way to go...
