2014-05-07T06:41:15+00:00 i guess the internet connection would have got disturbed again and again , resulting in the incomplete download. But i then went to my friend's place who has a different ISP and was able to download it in a single time.

Where is the link? Right-click, Copy Shortcut?

2014-05-07T23:07:25+00:00 this whole thing is absurd. For the person that said he went to a friends' house and it worked...one cannot take a PC to another place! All my updates are in and i still cannot do this., It is NOT the isp as my friends with different isp's are having the same problem. it is Microsoft Again and again and again.. this is so lame and ridiculous! Microsoft- shame on you! I so wish I had gone MACs when I started on computers

2014-05-08T09:08:06+00:00 For me the problem was IPS . I tried installing 8.1 at my place almost 10 times but the download used to get interrupt in between . Later i went to my friend's place who used different ISP and also has 2mbps download speed my 8.1 installation got finished in one go. Thats why i think ISP was the root cause since if your internet connection gets cut off even for a small time , you may experience a break in download.
This worked in my case.
