    Try #2

Can someone with this error (0x80240031) please email their %windir%\windowsupdate.log to rajra at live dot com (convert to email id ).  This is the windows update operation file

Give me a few moments, I should be able to get this for you.

SIMPLE SOLUTION TO THE REALMS OF DOWNLOAD PROBLEMS - RELEASE AN ISO !!! This is hardly rocket science. I bought a Toshiba notebook with Windows 8 pre installed. I hated it with a passion, but thought I would reserve judgement until all the issues had been resolved with 8.1. However after trying 12 times to install I have given up and realize Microsoft are now incapable of writing and delivering usable software. Same issue as loads of others as stops installing after 50% and goes back to the beginning.

The worst thing after 4 days is there have been absolutely no comments or solutions from Microsoft. This is looking like turning into a PR disaster. Personally, if this isn't sorted by the weekend, I think my notebook will be on Ebay and I will be joining the realms going to Apple. I have supported Microsoft since Windows 3.1, but enough is enough

Having all updates installed make no difference. This is a problem even though all recommended and optional updates are installed on mine
