    No Updates available

Disabled Virus Protection, Mind you I tried Downloading 8.1 Before I installed Virus Protection.

    Still no Win 8.1

I'm so sick of people replying to this 7 page thread with their idealistic minor fix that they assume no one has tried without reading anything besides the last post...

and furthermore I'm irritated that Windows Tech ignore these 70 replies with people facing the same issue as if its nothing. I'm just going to go ahead and unfollow this thread and check back in a few months maybe someone will have found a REAL resolution by then.

MS support has been working with me to find the issue. So please refrain from making assumptions that yhey aren't doing anything. Maybe if you would stop being a Rick with a silent p, and help rather than just complain, you might be useful.

FIXED!  2 issues to look at.  1st, make sure all the updates for 8.0 have been installed.   2nd, and this is what fixed it for me...turn off any security software you have running.  Once I shut off Defender, the download went through.  Checking compatibility takes a long time, but ultimately I got 8.1 installed.

    Is this issue already fixed?

I'm having the same problem. What's funny is that the download funnily took 3 seconds to finish it then the error code shows up.

Well, I'm used to this. Every single app that I download from the store gives me errors. The latest app that I installed was Pinball FX2, last July. That's about 3 months ago Microsoft!

And letting us DL the Win 8.1 Update ONLY from the Store is RIDICULOUS.

I've read that DLing all Windows Updates (including Bing Desktop) will fix the problem. I would like to download all the Windows Updates but they're sizes are just too overwhelming on my data plan. If this solution is guaranteed to work 100%, please tell me. I wanna get my hands on that Windows 8.1.
