This version of Windows is no longer supported by the Windows Store

Hi,

Two days ago I went to the Windows store to upgrade to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8 Pro. It took a while but the upgrade appears to have worked. But, now when I go to the Windows Store it states that "This version of Windows is no longer supported by the Windows Store".

It recommends I get the newest version of Windows which ultimately leads back to the store with the above error message.

Have I successfully upgraded or not? How can I get the Windows Store working if it has been successful?

Any advice here would be appreciated.

I had Windows 8 Pro before the upgrade and I have never downloaded the Windows 8.1 Preview.

    My version of 8 was preinstalled and 8.1 was an upgrade from the store after I brought the machine home.  Worked for a while.  Now store doesn't recognise it and I can't use downloaded apps.

    Why buy anything in the Store when you have no guarantee you can access it?

    Removing the above mentioned update and running wsreset.exe fixed the issue for me as well.

    I had this problem which read "this version of windows is no longer supported" as well.  I corrected the problem by performing a system restore previous to the last critical update that I downloaded from Windows. Everything works now except I don't want to do the updated that windows is asking me for now because I believe it is the problem.  Hopefully this works for some of you as well. 

    Microsoft needs to respond to this.
