Nokia Software Recovery Tool

Hi guys,

So yesterday I saw on Nokia's Cyan availability page, that Cyan is available for my German Lumia 920 Country Variant (firmware 3051.50009.1424.0001).

I'm on WP8.0 (downgraded from WP 8.1 update 1 developer preview) but when I press the update button in settings - about, it doesn't find any update.

I connected my phone to my PC and ran the Nokia software recovery tool, as it must show the latest firmware available for my device right? But it still says firmware 3051.40000.1349.0001 is the "latest" firmware! But here it says Cyan should be available.

Can somebody please tell me what's going on? I've been waiting for the Cyan firmware like forever.

try to find somebody with a working Telus Canada collection. He is then able to share (E-mail) you the AppID. Then you are able to go to its installation page directly, and or download the XAP from a computer. That way, you get a more detailed error message why your phone is not allowed to install this app.

The Windows Phone Store Search (what for a word) ‘simply’ does not display apps which are incompatible. One of the reasons I backup all XAP and their webpage. Although I am still not able to install the apps this way, I do get an error message which gives a clue sometimes.

To get Cortana to work in Canada you need Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1. Until you have that update the Alpha of Cortana will not work in Canada. This thread helped me set it up right on my 520, http://forums.wpcentral.com/cortana/301097-cortana-canada.html

Thank you Abi99 for the response, my mistake about cortina I thought it was enabled without 8.1 update 1.

I haven't been able to locate the same product code on the box, manuals and also don't have the plastic foil the phone came with. Oddly in the software recovery tool is the only place I can find that number. Not sure if the sim try numbers have any importance

I was last able to get the Telus optik app prior to using the recovery tool. I have had reset the phone a few times in the past but it has always been there and showed the Telus collection in the store.

The only other thing I don't think I mentioned was that there was no SIM card in the phone when I used the recovery tool. Not sure if that would have anything to do with it..? I guess the best way to check is go through the format process again with the sim in the phone.

Microsoft is about Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1. You have the original Windows Phone 8.1 without any update, yet.

You have to double-check, somewhere a 7-letter code starting with 059 is printed. The same could be printed in the sales packages, on that label on that foil which wrapped the phone.

That is still Telus Canada. You never left that firmware variant if you used just the Nokia Software Recovery Tool. Consequently, your Telus collection/app issue has another cause: When was the last time you were able get that app? Normally, Store collections/apps are visible depending on the SIM inserted, not on the firmware variant used.
