Get Error 1723 - There is a problem with Windows Installer package

Hi, i am having trouble with .msi files. An example of it would be logmein hamachi. It would return me with error 1723. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. What should I do? i am currently using windows 8 pro with media centre. my windows installer is Windows ® Installer. V 5.0.9200.16384. Thanks

I had the exact same problem. The solution is to go into c:\users"username"\AppData\Local\  then right click on "temp" and choose "properies". Choose "security" --> edit --> add, and add the username you are using, and give yourself all rights. After that it'll work :)

    i tried following this method as described but i couldnt locate appdata in my username folder. please help!!!!!

    Do one thing......

    open your Command prompt with " run as administrator " rights.

    Then using cd (change directory) command locate folder where the msi file is located.

    After changing the directory type your msi file name or just write a few character and press "Tab" key, it will automatically search.

    Then press "Enter" key.

    It will install the file with no problem....
