Call of duty 4 crashes in Windows 8.

my call of duty 4 doesent work in win 8. it gives me this mesage at a random time:

iw3mp.exe has stopped working

i have tryed googeling and found some ansers that dident work on my pc.

i have made no upgrades on my pc and instaled a clean win 8. jet call of duty 4 isent working on win 8 while it whas working on win 7.

i hope someone can help me fix this problem.

Hello to all

I found the solution, u will get ur cod4 crashed if u r using xfire for launching the game or if u already used it once and xfire is running in backround, it will still crashes, first att all try to exit xfire and try then, if the problem is still there u have to let pb services to run on desktop, set full control, after that is done u have to instal pbsvc again, and download pb files for Cod4 cuz Punkbuster is not supporting cod4 anymore, when u copy files to pb file of cod4 problem should be solved, those guys from Microsoft are not even tryin to help...

    Amazing Microsoft did not fixed it yet.

    This issue is a major thing for gamers.

    I have no such luck.  I tried a cracked server and same deal.  It let's me play for about a minute and then I am off.  Either I get the iw3mp.exe crash, or the screen just blanks and I have to reboot.  I have this same thing occur for other more recent games my son plays.  Sometimes the screen blanks on him and other times he plays without issue.  Given that I have tried three different video drivers and audio drivers etc., with no change in the problems, I still have to believe it is a Windows 8 issue and not really sure if it is PB related or not.  All I do know is that in Win Vista, no issues with any of these programs.  Also when I first got Win8, even their own Apps would crash the PC.  Mostly it seems that issues has been fixed, likely with one of the many Win updates that have come through the past few weeks.  But all in all...very disappointing.  

    On your case i think its your computer. My Win 8 apps dont crach and my computer never craches totaly.
