Windows 9 release Date?

The early days. 

Remember early versions of MS-DOS?  Many years ago Microsoft said DOS was out, however, DOS commands remain in use to this day.

Now, back to the Windows hate posts ;)  I hope Windows 9 does the desktop user justice, both in the work place and home. 

I do not understand why so many people dislike Windows 8.0 - 8.1, after all, some of the wonderful things it brought were reduced functionality, new layers of "carp or c r a p", name changes and new locations for common power user functions [again], and Touch screen at the office or home anyone? ...

I suppose you can surmise my blissful feelings about the OS king.  I ponder the question, how many people at Microsoft's board rooms understand rational thought regarding the needs and desires of PC users.

Home and office -> Ease of use, low overhead, no hidden or difficult to find functions, and compatibility.

Gamers                -> Performance and compatibility.  [What do you mean the latest version of Windows can't run my favorite old game? !!! {Don't expect GOG to recode many older Microsoft games and sell them for $5.99} ]

Windows 2 I think you mean 3.2 or maybe 3.0 Don't remember any 2 but maybe

I don't know any more about possible delays than you do, but the main
reason it might be delayed is if beta testing shows up major problems

Not me. I very rarely beta test anything, and never a Windows version.
I wouldn't do that unless I had a spare machine to beta test on, and
enough spare time to do it well.

I have only been using PCs since 2009.

I've been using computers since 1962, and PCs since 1983 or so.

Used Macs since 84.

I've never used a Macintosh other than a few minutes now and then, and
I've never had any interest in them.

PC s are much more "legacy friendly" than Macs.

I really like the flexibility a PC offers.

Having had almost zero experience with the Macintosh, I have no
opinion on it and won't comment on that.

Remain in use by some people, but the great majority of today's
Windows users know nothing about DOS commands and never use any of
them. Even I, who know DOS commands very well, rarely use them, and am
on my way to forgetting them.

since the release of win 98SE which put the computer to use mouse and keypads ad free from dos command also a introduction to the internet. win 98SE was the best,

then came the window 2000 pro ad window me in which win 2000 pro is the best .

the xp brought all the speed, user friendly and till ow most used in offices. the era of win vista was very bad , win 7 saved the window from an end.

win  8.1 is good but the perfection and nothing new for a business is lacking, you can use win 8.1 for gaming, multimedia etc but for office or professional it is not a stable computer.

As nothing can be rewind, so the technology , bring so much version  of widows ever 2nd year is not viable. 

As apple support its os with even the oldest os you get an free upgrade .

in spite of going for an new release Microsoft should come up with the highest up gradation of the windows 7 with the mix of 8.1 security features etc as an upgrade for win 8.1 such as 8.2 or xyz.

But a new launch of OS will end to windows.

as Microsoft said its 12 yrs since release/support of xp and its time for a new pc .

so in return who has a new pc will looking for an upgrade in place of any new os. :)
