Windows 9 release Date?

I thought I already did that (meaning I was looking into a nice landscape on my desktop instead of having my nose against the wall)

But I will check it again. At one point I did a full restore from the shop's original installation, because MS had "hijacked"(*) my user account, just because I visited their website with free stuff for Windows 8.1. There I was hoping to find a version of Solitaire that would look a bit OK.

Since I had the choice of playing Solitaire in full screen (on a 27" display › not nice) or in a vertical way (on its side like if it were for crabs), so it became playing Solitaire on Windows 7 or Windows Vista when I'm online. I find Solitaire very relaxing while waiting for something or when I need to think out of (my) box. But it should be in a windowed mode, so that I can still see what is going on in another window.

(*) well that's how it felt and I didn't like it at all and I didn't find any other solution than to restore the original stuff. And of course I lost everything I customized.

And maybe I didn't adapt it again (it has been a few months now since I plugged in that PC)

One more thing

May Windows 9 be highly customizable!

I guess 90% of the computer users on earth are having Windows (I have no clue) and the rest are using Mac and Linux.

So Microsoft has a responsibility being the only company "determining" how Windows will be. 

One version cannot fit everybody, that's why it should be a very customizable version.

Imagine there would only be 3 sorts of houses. 

That would not be enough, unless they would be fully adaptable. 

So that everybody can "find shoes for his/her feet"

But still is not enough for me.

I will try that ClassicShell stuff.

That could be the solution for me, I really hope it.

I hate the flat look of Windows 8.1 and the fact that it opens everything in full screen

(on a 27" display with Hires, that's horrible). For many years I like working with several windows open next to each other at the same time (hence the 27" display). 

You are obviously using the 'modern' interface.  Just switch to booting into desktop mode and everything you did with Windows 7 you can do with Windows 8.1!  Think of the modern interface as a glorified start menu for use if you need it.
