The text on the screen looks grey.  Would like the words to look darker & show up more distinctly against the white background.

Hi,

From your issue description I understand that you want to  personalize the display settings so that text should appear darker on the screen.

What is the make and model of your monitor and computer?

We cannot change the Desktop font color. They are dynamic and will show white on dark backgrounds and change to white with a black shadow effect on a light background.

I would suggest you to refer to the below suggestions and check it it helps.

Method 1:

a. Press Windows key +W(It will popup Windows 8 setting charm), **** type Calibrate display color, click in the search box and hit Enter.

b.      In Display Color Calibration, click Next to continue.

c.       Follow the onscreen instructions and check if it improves the display of your monitor.

Method 2: I would suggest you to refer to the Monitor's user manual and adjust brightness, contrast to different values.

Also refer to this link:

Hope the above information is useful.

Thanks for the info  Could you give me a brief summary of what it took, or suggest where I can go to get it.

The whole thing is complicated and I would just like some idea of what it takes.  I haven't been able to understand Microsoft's position they way it is described.

Do you do anything for the handicapped?  I am 84 yrs old and my eyes are not what they were.  I keep asking how to make the print, both mine and received, darker than the light gray I see . (like even right now as I type this )****.

Watch what I can do to change it: Oops, I can not click on the font size to go to my 14 setting I use. Only got the B for bold but that does show you much darker letters.  I cannot be re-typing all notes over again just to see the letters darker.  Is this a difficult concept?

Gmorning Donald. I can make it bold **too on this reply but that is because you have the bold option(B) but when you are on the web where everyone is having trouble,**we dont have that option. You would think that Microsoft or windows 10 could figure a way to do this by now. The only place I know about is replys and Word Pad. If a simple fix Microsoft. You claim to be so smart; Add the text format like here to your program or change the gray back to black like it was before we all go blind.
