I guess I didn't make myself clear enough.

Let's start from the top.

You will NOT be booting off your hard drive.

You will not be running this program from Windows.

Do you wish to create a bootable floppy or a bootable CD? Note that you will NOT be running this program from your hard drive. Instead you will be creating a bootable CD or floppy, which you will boot off of.

So please indicate your prefrence. Do you wish to create a bootable floppy or bootable CD (since THAT is how you will be running this program)?

In the event you wish to create a bootable floppy, this is your link:

You would need to pop in a blank floppy disk into your floppy drive, then unzip the file you downloaded and run the executable, which will allow you to create the bootable floppy.

In the event you wish to create a bootable CD, this is your link for the .iso file:

And assuming you need a program to create a CD from an .iso image, I highly recommend ImgBurn:

Once your bootable media is created, pop it into its proper drive, reboot, and press F12 so you get the Dell boot screen, which looks like this:

Choose the proper device and let MemTest+ run for at least two passes.

Darn, had another bsod, this time caused by Comodo it looks like.

Was using FFox again, it froze, not responding, then the bsod,

I still think you should test your RAM.

Also, I was under the impression you uninstalled Avast and ran aswclear.exe from this site:

http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility

However, there are still issues with AswRdr.sys, an Avast file which should have been removed by now. Something ain't right.

Also, Comodo is not a necessary program. I suggest you uninstall it.

It might be the case there is a conflict with too many security programs running concurrently (e.g., two antivirus programs and/or two firewalls).

All you need is one good antivirus program (MSE is fine) and one firewall on (Windows Firewall is sufficient).

Did your PC ever have Norton or McAfee? (I ask because there could be leftovers causing issues.)

Oh those avast files are from the aswMBR scan, it updated the virus deffinitions from Avast.

yes I had Norton a long time ago. I think I used their uninstaller to remove it though.

seems like alot of folks are having problems uninstalling comodo free firewall, should I use Revo Uninstaller, or do you have any other suggestions?
