The system has recovered from a serious error

I've been having these for the last couple of months. I've been googling the details in the error report but don't really understand the error that's occurring. I think it 'might' be related to my NVidia graphics card or driver, but I have the latest driver, and that might not be the problem anyway.

I hope someone has some insight into this and can help figure it out and hopefully fix it! :-)

here's the report-

When I look in the Event Viewer I see a red X, click properties and see 

Error code 1000000a, parameter1 00000166, parameter2 00000002, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 804e5443

How can I find specific Info on this error? Below that red X in Event Viewer I also see two yellow warning events, both have the source of asw Rdr. Is that a clue?

    Maybe it IS Avast:

    You can always uninstall Avast AND run their removal tool:

    http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility

    And THEN reinstall the newest version of Avast.

    Or you can instead install Avira Antivirus or Microsoft Security Essentials (both are free).

    Keep in mind these are wild stabs. :-)

    I also vote for Avast.

    If, after uninstalling Avast the system continues to crash if JoeFromSD (who did fine with my questions) would upload the crash dump files to the SkyDrive, we can look at them.

    OK, thanks so much for your time guys, I really appreciate all the xtra time you put in to helping me out :-)

    I already reinstalled avast, we'll see .. but if I get the bsod again I know right where to go for help!

    say, one final question- I installed the updated graphics card driver, but it was awful, when I moved folders around on my desktop they sort of rippled. My Win Patrol said my NvCplDaemon had been changed or removed. I googled that and it's from NVidia. Should I try to reinstall that driver?

    I reverted back to the older one and all is working fine, but then I don't know if it would work better with an updated driver.

    Your msinfo32 says your NVIDIA video driver version is:

    Driver Version    6.14.11.7519

    That is NVIDIA speak for their driver version 175.19

    You have to shift the decimal two place to the right to have it make sense and that is what NVIDIA says is the correct driver for your system so if that driver does not work right and another driver does work right, then I would stick with the driver that works the best and if it is not 175.19 perhaps make a mental note that what NVIDIA says you need may not be right for your system.

    well, I had another BSOD caused by the Avast driver. Here's the whocrashed report-

    maybe it's time to remove Avast completly and go with MSEssentials?
