The system has recovered from a serious error

I've been having these for the last couple of months. I've been googling the details in the error report but don't really understand the error that's occurring. I think it 'might' be related to my NVidia graphics card or driver, but I have the latest driver, and that might not be the problem anyway.

I hope someone has some insight into this and can help figure it out and hopefully fix it! :-)

here's the report-

BCCode: 1000000a BCP1:00000166 BCP2: 00000002 BCP3: 00000000 BCP4: 80E5443 OSVer: 5_1_2600 Sp: 3_0 product 768_1

When I look in the Event Viewer I see a red X, click properties and see

Error code 1000000a, parameter1 00000166, parameter2 00000002, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 804e5443

How can I find specific Info on this error? Below that red X in Event Viewer I also see two yellow warning events, both have the source of asw Rdr. Is that a clue?

is there an easier way I could do a ram test Daavee?

    still scanning ..

Well you could leave all your sticks in and run the test that way (I've done this). It's just not the preferred way.

Good your data is backed up!

You can create either a bootable CD or floppy that has Memtest 86+ on it (directions on the website), with which you can test your RAM modules. Best way is to open the case, remove all modules but one, run the test repeatedly with the one stick of RAM in each of the motherboard's RAM slots. Repeat for each stick of RAM. Yes, it's long and involved, but it's the correct way to test RAM sticks.

Yes, aswMBR can take a LONG time!

Don't know anything at all about AdwCleaner, but I see certain registry keys have been removed. This can be risky!!!!!!! Personally, I would undo any and all changes it made (does it have that feature?).

boy that aswmbr scan is taking a long time, seems to be hung up on a .dll file.

in the meantime, it might be that these problems started after I did a Adwcleaner scan?

sorry Daavee but I don't understand what to do with that MemTest, is it something I download and run? I'm confused when you say

"One stick at a time in each slot"

the aswMBR shows it's still scanning but seems to be hung up on one dll file, when it's done I'll post the log.

data backed up, well I have Carbonite.
