You can create either a bootable CD or floppy that has Memtest 86+ on it (directions on the website), with which you can test your RAM modules. Best way is to open the case, remove all modules but one, run the test repeatedly with the one stick of RAM in each of the motherboard's RAM slots. Repeat for each stick of RAM. Yes, it's long and involved, but it's the correct way to test RAM sticks.

Yes, aswMBR can take a LONG time!

Don't know anything at all about AdwCleaner, but I see certain registry keys have been removed. This can be risky!!!!!!! Personally, I would undo any and all changes it made (does it have that feature?).

boy that aswmbr scan is taking a long time, seems to be hung up on a .dll file.

The first thing to do is test your RAM. I would use Memtest 86+:

If RAM is healthy, scan once more for rootkits, using aswMBR:

It MIGHT yield different results than Avast and the other two rootkit scanners you used earlier. It is a STANDALONE program (nothing gets installed). However, when given the opportunity, you need to download the latest definitions.

Instead of carrying out any actions, instead post the report so we can all see it and then advise.

Boy do I have problems now!

I installed MSE.

Then I installed that updated driver again, and have that rippling screen issue when I move opened folders around. So I clicked to rollback driver, and got 'no driver files have been backed up for this device'.

I went and downloaded that older driver, installed it, but still have the same rippling effect. When I click on that driver in device Manager I get 'windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration info (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged (code 19)

FFox is crashing now also. I'm using IE now to type this, but it crashed awhile ago also.

what should I do now? Is there any scan I can do to test and repair my driver? Any other scan I can do to give you more Info? How about that debugging tool whatever that is?
