Recieve a BSOD after KB2859537.

I've been following and reading with my fingers crossed that somebody figured out the fix.

I've read all the posts about what could cause the problem

Rootkit (Virus) or Hardware

On my computer it installed no problem Win7 64 Intel Duo GigaByte MB.

My daughters computer had the problem. Win7 64 Intel Duo GigaByte MB.

I ran F-Prot, MSE and MBAM and TDDSKiller.  No problem in the Rootkit

but MBAM did find two virus. I haven't tried to install the KB-537 since cleaning it.

I would hate to be locked out without the chance of doing a restore on a reboot.

I've been lucky so far installing all the other KB's.

I appreciate all the posts here because somebody with more smarts than me will

figure this out. I guess the question is; Is it hardware or a virus ?  

What happened to EnglishM45 ? That last post talked about MS helping

him/her on the problem. I think one post mentioned MS was able to

reproduce the problem? or did I read that wrong.

To assure anyone else reading this thread, if you want to turn off automatic updates temporarily, that's okay too, just don't hide the update and think that's a solution.  Hang loose thanks to people here both the BSOD and the 0x errors are being looked at to better understand what's going on.  But be rest assured not every system is suffering from this issue.

They are 'throttling" the update as they typically do when they see issues with an update.  For those that have installed it and see no issues (as I have here personally) there is no need to uninstall the update.  For those that see it unchecked, leave it be and it will be 'unthrottled' at a later time.

Let me open a case so we can determine this.  Without a support case we're guessing.  All I know is what we have cases for or what others helping in communities have showcased.

We cannot confirm what we don't have cases for.  I am passing along reports of people investingating the issues.  Again, it will be free, I will set up a call back, all I need is your phone number.  Send an email to susan-at-msmvps.com (change the -at- to @)

Also make sure you boot from non windows media and scan "under" the operating system.  Scanning from a running Windows may not find it.

Susan, I'm sure it is a bit confusing with all the people posting.  I have no issue other than I was wondering why KB2859537 was listed as Important but not checked.  I since discovered this thread and understand that Microsoft unchecked the update.

So unless there is a reason to open a case I will not install this update and hope that once Microsoft has any issues resolved they will reissue the update checked for installation.
