Recieve a BSOD after KB2859537.

When I install KB2859537 on my Windows 7 X64 machine I get a BSOD during reboot either trying to boot normally or trying to boot in safe mode. Had to restore the primany disk three times now to get the PC bac. Can someone report to MS tech please.Anyone else seen this

    All of them are licensed systems installed clean form Microsoft media though - which goes a long way explaining why there are no problems.

    Well I have a solid BSOD on one W7 X64 system which is why I started this case, but the update installed and runs fine on another W7 X64 system of mine. Both were installed clean from MS media and both have a very similar set of applications installed.

    Yes, I understand. Unfortunately, drivers also in most cases fall under the category 'third-party software'.

    It's gonna take some diagnostics and communication with IHVs to sort this out.

    They are 'throttling" the update as they typically do when they see issues with an update.  For those that have installed it and see no issues (as I have here personally) there is no need to uninstall the update.  For those that see it unchecked, leave it be and it will be 'unthrottled' at a later time.

     

     

    I am one of the many who have no problems, be it Windows 7 x64, Windows 7 x86 or Windows 8 x86 - I have this update installed on all three.  All of them are licensed systems installed clean form Microsoft media though - which goes a long way explaining why there are no problems. There is a caveat that third party software can go haywire anytime the kernel is updated, expecting something to be there which gets moved or removed. I have encountered none so far on my installations.

    Hi Tony,

     

    I agree with Rahul, it would be better if all CBS log files are shared. CBS logs when System is in the BSOD state before System restore would be needed for the team to investigate this issue.

     

    Rahul might share more email addresses for official communication if needed. Else we can take it from Susan.
