Recieve a BSOD after KB2859537.

I had the update installed on 4 (Windows 7 64-bit based) homecomputers without causing any issues. So it has to be related to software or hardware even. It is almost impossible to catch the thing that is causing it. I've searched on this subject on many different forum-pages and these examples were named :

• People might miss out some other important kernel-updates
• Some users speak about Rootkits. If one is installed , it is causing trouble (it cannot start then)
• Avast (was having trouble with the last updates also)
• Yes, some 32-bit applications might not work. Including some games. Rift has fixed it with a client-update now. But you cannot expect of every developer that it is gonna change his code because of a ms-security update.

I just not wanted to risk it, so decided to uninstall that update on all 4 homecomputers and hide the update. Many people / friends did that now. So guess that a patch-fix will be released with a new KB-number? Else we cannot see it ;).

it is good that Microsoft took action and disabled this specific security upate as a automatic roll-out. Although it might be a bit late (5 days after the release).

Possible Issues caused by KB2859537(named on different forums):- BSOD's- with the same 05 error-code- Application Errors by opening. Or Applications just don't start at all (no error shown)- Rift / Final Fantasy / Defiance doesn't work anymore- Not all Control Panel functionalities work- IE / Chrome or even Firefox doesn't want to start or update- Windows Profile gone corrupt (happened with a close friend his laptop)- People cannot restart the machine- People cannot install applications anymore

Arthur, I use Radeon RAMDisk (rebadged DataRAM, recently updated to 4.2.1.0) and it's OK set to 256MB with KB2859537 applied. I have Win7 Pro 64 with 4GB RAM on Edge 15 laptop.

Again, I will open up a FREE support case for you guys.  Just someone EMAIL ME please and then we can stop all this guessing and truly get to the bottom of this.

Without support cases they cannot fix what they don't understand what's wrong with it.

That didn't work for me either. Ran scans and rootkit scans with two separate AV's. Clean as a whistle. Windows simply cannot repair adequately to allow this particular update. My computer's system repair did note that configuration (whatever that may entail) issues were at fault. Damned happy I made that repair disk!

See if they have an update.  Again if the developers hook into the kernel, they may need updates.
