When I install KB2859537 on my Windows 7 X64 machine I get a BSOD during reboot either trying to boot normally or trying to boot in safe mode. Had to restore the primany disk three times now to get the PC bac. Can someone report to MS tech please.Anyone else seen this

The KB977165 article suggests using the tool described in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/980966 to determine whether the kernel update can safely be installed.
I found this thread after noticing KB2859537 being throttled (unchecked) on both my systems.
I haven't read all 11 pages but based on what I did read I don't plan to install it but do hope when this is resolved it gets rereleased for installation.
If you wouldn't mind starring a new thread as this will probably take a bit of back and forthing. Any system after any batch of updates can get stuck on part 3 of 3 and it isn't necessarily the same update as this one. In general you have to boot under the OS and see if you can get the pending.xml file.
Just a quick reply, I deleted the Pend.xml file, and rebooted. rebooted normally and then finished the pending updates. with out KB2859537. I working great now. Thanks for the help Susan.
As I understand it, English's issue is not a root kit. But removing the kb should roll the update back to what it was?
Glad you sorted your problem out, but this is not the same one as I have with a 6B BSOD on every reboot with any F8 option.
Worked with MS again yesterday to remove the KB package using the command line via the W7 DVD, but even having done that the BSOD still happens on reboot. Certainly looks like the damage is done on installation, prior to the reboot.
