So it turns out, this update is really really really evil! Even more so, because it is a silent prerequisite for IE10.
I just wanted to try out the analog Input of my Terratec TV Stick today. To do that I used the TV Application from Terratec, that I do not normally use. No sound for TV, no nothing for analog input. I suspected all and everything to be faulty, especially the old analoge cables. And then I finally tried the support page from terratec, hoping I just was to dumb to use the adapter cable.
Quote:
"The Microsoft platform update KB2670838, which is available for Windows 7 since the end of February will, in some cases, stop the image and sound in the TERRATEC Home Cinema software."
They have released a patch and sound for tv and picture for analogue works again.
The kicker is this: I had already deinstalled this crappy update a few days ago!!!
Seems to me, this so called update breaks an awful lot of things, most people would not even notice immediately.
