Windows store does not open; always goes back to start screen. When I opened, wsreset.exe, then I got this error message...

Windows cannot find 'ms-windows-store:PurgeCaches'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

What should I do? Note that the store actually works in other user account.

Please run the following in a Command Window to re-register the Store app:

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.xml

Don't do anything else other than cutting and running this code make sure you do nothing else other than Running this.

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.xml

I wish i have known this before i re-freshed my wndows 8. What happened to me was that i deleted the packages folder C:\Users\**********\AppData\Local\Packages\.* i thought it was temp files or cache. Microsoft should change the location of this package folder or add recognizable name such as Store Apps Packages.

Thanks for your help.

So I this problem in conjunction with all my store apps not working.

I solved the store crash issue by fixing my permissions on the WindowsApps folder.

C:\Program Files (go to view tab and enable view of hidden items, uncheck this after completing this guide)

Find WindowsApps folder right click and open properties.

Go to security tab then click advanced near the bottom

At the top of the window change owner by clicking change and type Administrators and check names (should underline)

    click ok, and then apply.

This allowed my store to open.

Now I am trying to fix my store apps.

If you follow my guide for fixing the store.

Hopefully like me, searching for the app that’s crashing in the store should launch it without any problems.

Once I launched from store app now works normally.
