Touch screen not working for Asus laptop

i have the Asus - 11.6" Touch-Screen Laptop - 4GB Memory - 500GB Hard Drive - Steel Gray and for some reason my touch screen is not working anymore. It worked perfectly  the other day but today it is not. Does anybody know why and what i can do to fix this problem?

p.s. i already tried restarting my laptop and shutting it down.

I had this issue with my VivoBook S400CA touch screen and fixed it today doing the following:

  1. Go to the Control Panel.
  2. Go to Troubleshooting (you may have to search for it)
  3. Click Hardware and Sound
  4. In the Device section, click Hardware and Devices
  5. Have the wizard scan your computer for hardware issues.
  6. Let the computer fix whatever issues you had.

In my case there were 2 USB input devices that were disabled that the wizard enabled for me.  The touchscreen immediately started working.  Hope this helps someone.

UPDATE:

The problem used to come back periodically.  But since updating all of my drivers a while back, the problem has not resurfaced.

    I have found a viable solution to this problem...

    Do EXACTLY as I say:

    1. Go to "Device Manager" in the Control Panel.
    2. Select "Human Interface Dev11345ices".
    3. Disable the drivers with the yellow triangle with the exclamation point below them. (If there is none, do as ace11485 says)
    4. Re-enable the disabled drivers.
    5. Try touching the screen.

    There you go!

    If it still doesn't work, then I don't know WHAT will.

    You need to look for the ATK drivers.

    1.-Download the latest ATK driver of your laptop model.

    2.-Uninstall the actual ATK controller (do not restart your System, you will do it manually after installing the new controller).

    3.-Install the new controller of ATK and then restart your system.

    4.-Check the touch screen, touch pad, Fn's, Wifi.

    Lo único que debes hacer es descargar el controlador ATK, ya que ese conjunta funciones de Wifi, Pantallas, pad (en algunos casos).

    1.- Ve a la página de tu lap top y busca los controladores ATK, o bien, los controladores de Pantalla y descargalo. (puede venir comprimido), descomprimelo en una carpeta.

    2.-Ve a "Instalar y desinstalar un programa" y desinstala el controlador ATK actual. (No reinicies tu PC al finalizar la desinstalación)

    3.-Instala el nuevo controlador ATK y al finalizar selecciona SI para reiniciar el equipo.

    4.- Una vez instalado: inicia y verifica que las funciones estén instaladas correctamente.

    Yessss!!!! I spend near an hour trying to fox my screen and after trying almost everything that everybody has said I tried this and now my touchscreen is finally working :)
