I had this issue with my VivoBook S400CA touch screen and fixed it today doing the following:

  1. Go to the Control Panel.
  2. Go to Troubleshooting (you may have to search for it)
  3. Click Hardware and Sound
  4. In the Device section, click Hardware and Devices
  5. Have the wizard scan your computer for hardware issues.
  6. Let the computer fix whatever issues you had.

In my case there were 2 USB input devices that were disabled that the wizard enabled for me.  The touchscreen immediately started working.  Hope this helps someone.

UPDATE:

The problem used to come back periodically.  But since updating all of my drivers a while back, the problem has not resurfaced.

I figured it out!!!! Mine does this all the time & usually fixes it's self later but it's been a couple months now. Here is the link to Asus support: http://www.service.asus.com/ Look up your model & download driver updates & bios, then restart. just don't download the one ending in CN, I guess that means China..... So download global unless you are in China. OK mine is now working!!! :) Now to find away to upgrade to dual touch screens.

    Dear All,

I have a problem with my touchscreen. I tired everything expect factory setting because I deleted it before.

I put the Windows 8, 8.1 but the touch screen has not been working at all. There was a screen keyboard at the bottom of the right hand side. But it`s deleted as well.

Also, wireless card driver is not working, I I installed the all drivers from Asus webpage. I did all update.

    Any idea ???

    The Laptop is asus s200e-

    MB Version: X202E

    Thanks
