No audio during playback in Movie Maker

I am finding a problem with my Windows Movie Maker, I have run my videos through Media player and Am certain the sound is just fine there, but when I put it on movie maker, No audio at all no game sounds or talking from me. Please any fix to this would be greatly appreciated.

This works for me in Windows 8.1 to fix this:

type "services" in the Windows search box

From the list of services, choose Windows Audio

Stop the service, then

Start the service

Sound now plays in Movie Maker.

    The DTS Sound option worked for me, exactly as is described.

    For those who say you can't find it, you don't know Windows 8. Just go to the start screen and start typing. That's how you find things. Type DTS Sound, and before you're finished it will show in the right hand side menu. Click on it, and then click the icon on the left which is like the guy said, a power icon.

    When I clicked on it, the whole thing turned grey. I went back to Windows Movie Maker, and without anything else, I clicked play and I could hear the audio.

    I don't know why this works, I don't know what else that is doing to my sound in other areas, if I should turn it back on afterwards. I don't know why Windows Movie Maker causes so many problems, and with all the posts on a Google Search for this problem in the program, you'd think by now Microsoft would take care of it, rather than silly things, like you might have an old version, you might not have the right codecs, you might be using an unsupported audio format, or the like.

    Why it worked I don't know. And if it will work for you I don't know. But I can guarantee this worked for me just now. On my first try.

    Thanks for the info, although implying that someone is dopey for not knowing how to navigate Windows 8 is a little unfair, since Windows 8 is an unnecessarily radical departure from previous versions and the whole "upper right hand corner" thing takes a lot of getting used to. Although I do agree with you that by now Microsoft should have simply posted a fixed version of WMM --- although again, it was better before.

    In any case, I followed your very clear instructions and typed "DTS Sound", but nothing turned up. Either that program (or "app") is not on my system, or following that method doesn't expose it, or... I dunno.

    Any other suggestions?

    I can't find the DTS Sound either I have a project due and I just need a stupid little 30 sec video and I can't get the sound.
