No audio during playback in Movie Maker

I am finding a problem with my Windows Movie Maker, I have run my videos through Media player and Am certain the sound is just fine there, but when I put it on movie maker, No audio at all no game sounds or talking from me. Please any fix to this would be greatly appreciated.

This works for me in Windows 8.1 to fix this:

type "services" in the Windows search box

From the list of services, choose Windows Audio

Stop the service, then

Start the service

Sound now plays in Movie Maker.

    Hi....

    so when I added the windows essentials I thought it helped when I window popped up it fixed it....BUTthe next time I put in a video in it but it didn't work next time sadly :(

    I am hoping that you will fix this.....if there is a way plz reply.

    hi! I have this problem too, and i went to audio services, and turned it off, then on, and now i have no sound whatsoever. please help.

    I was having trouble with audio for movie maker. read the answers but couldn't cope with that so shut down computer and restarted it and now it's fine. maybe try that first?
