No audio during playback in Movie Maker

I am finding a problem with my Windows Movie Maker, I have run my videos through Media player and Am certain the sound is just fine there, but when I put it on movie maker, No audio at all no game sounds or talking from me. Please any fix to this would be greatly appreciated.

This works for me in Windows 8.1 to fix this:

type "services" in the Windows search box

From the list of services, choose Windows Audio

Stop the service, then

Start the service

Sound now plays in Movie Maker.

    I've found a solution not listed here.

    If you look in your apps on your computer, there is one called "DTS Sound". When you open it, it has an option to choose internal, headphones or external (shown with three different icons).

    You can either:

    1. Choose internal ie the computer looking icon, or
    2. Switch DTS Sound to OFF (click on the icon on the left that looks like a power button, when you click on to OFF, everything turns grey).

    For some reason, when DTS Sound is on, or set to something other than internal, the sound for my Movie Maker doesn't work. But as soon as it is off, it works perfectly. Sometimes my computer switches to headphones automatically, I don't know why!

    Only just found this out today, hope this helps!

    This fix worked like a charm.  Thank you for posting this.  On windows 8,  Save and close movie maker.  Then use the search function(magnifying glass)  DTS sound when it comes up, press the power button in the DTS window (everything turns grey) to turn it off.  Open movie maker and voila...Sound.

    Hi!

    Experienced the same issue..

    Start - enter "movie" - rightclick on Windows Movie Maker - Run as Administrator.

    Worked for me :)
