    nope...didn't work at all... PLEASE HELP! I've had this laptop for 1 stupid week and I'm finding it near impossible to work with.. ready to just get my old laptop fixed and send this expensive one back.

    Hi,

    Please answer these questions to get more clarity on this issue:

    • Did you make any changes to the computer prior to this issue?
    • What is the make and model of the computer?

    Let us follow these methods and check if this helps.

    Method 1.

    Let us run the hardware troubleshooter and check the status.

    Follow these steps:

    • Press the ‘Windows + W’ key on the keyboard.
    • Type troubleshooting in the search box and then press enter.
    • Click hardware and sound and run the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter.
    • Follow the On screen instructions. Once this is done, restart the computer and check the status.

    Method 2.

    Uninstall the Generic Touch Screen Drivers.

    • Press “Windows Logo” + “X” keys on the keyboard.
    • Click on “Device Manager” from that list.
    • Expand “Human Interface Devices” and search for the Touch Screen device from the device list, right click on it and then select “Uninstall”. On the un-installation window, if you have an option: “Delete the driver software for this device” you may select that and then remove the incompatible/corrupted drivers from the computer.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete it and the restart the computer.

    After the restart, please open the Device Manager again and then click on the “Scan for hardware changes” button. Check if the computer detects the Touch Screen device and installs an appropriate driver automatically. Also, make sure that you have installed all the updates (including the optional updates) available for the operating system via Windows Update.
