Hi getting above message with device manager for this hardware TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H653N ATA

Ive tried running the Microsoft trouble shooter but this doesn't help any ideas? Running Windows 8 thanks

Can you check the following registry key?:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

At that registry key, in the right window, is there, under "Name", either an UpperFilters or LowerFilters value?

If so, for each of the UpperFilters and/or LowerFilters value, what is listed under "Data"?

    There are different registry keys to look at for the keyboard.

    Can you check the following registry key?:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4d36e96b-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}

    At that registry key, in the right window, is there, under "Name", either an UpperFilters or LowerFilters value?

    If so, for each of the UpperFilters and/or LowerFilters value, what is listed under "Data"?

    Can you also check the following registry key?:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4d36e96f-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}

    I only got the Upperfilters and I delted that should I now delete {4d36e96b-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}?

    Hi auggy, I have updated my Toshiba to Win 8 and cannot access the dvd drive. I have followed your steps and under Data  for the upperfilters is listed "GEARspiWDM" and under lowerfilters is listed "PxHlpa64". What do I do now? With thanks.
