Hi getting above message with device manager for this hardware TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H653N ATA

Ive tried running the Microsoft trouble shooter but this doesn't help any ideas? Running Windows 8 thanks

Can you check the following registry key?:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

At that registry key, in the right window, is there, under "Name", either an UpperFilters or LowerFilters value?

If so, for each of the UpperFilters and/or LowerFilters value, what is listed under "Data"?

    Thanks for the reply.

    I actually did find that registry and for UpperFilters it said something like "thunk" or "rtkhunk" under data. I deleted it but, I still have the same problem.

    I have also tried uninstalling/updating the drivers, etc. but, I am beyond my depth here.

    There should be an UpperFilters value of ksthunk

    You should actually put that value back.

    Did you remove ksthunk or did you delete UpperFilters ?  

    Also, when did the Code 19 problem start and did the start of the problem coincide with any hardware or software change?
