Hi getting above message with device manager for this hardware TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H653N ATA

Ive tried running the Microsoft trouble shooter but this doesn't help any ideas? Running Windows 8 thanks

Can you check the following registry key?:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

At that registry key, in the right window, is there, under "Name", either an UpperFilters or LowerFilters value?

If so, for each of the UpperFilters and/or LowerFilters value, what is listed under "Data"?

    I did method 1 and had the same problem, then I went to the device manager and chose to update the drive but it said it's up to date. I still have the same message about the registry

    I have the same problem but with "Realtek High Definition Audio"

    Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

    I am not sure where to go in the Registry Editor as my problem is audio and not a DVD/CD drive.

    Acer with Windows 8

    I tried reinstalling itunes but to no avail.

    Please help! Thank you!
