Hi getting above message with device manager for this hardware TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H653N ATA

Ive tried running the Microsoft trouble shooter but this doesn't help any ideas? Running Windows 8 thanks

Can you check the following registry key?:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

At that registry key, in the right window, is there, under "Name", either an UpperFilters or LowerFilters value?

If so, for each of the UpperFilters and/or LowerFilters value, what is listed under "Data"?

    You coukd try removing the GEARAspiWDM entry.

    To remove the GEARAspiWDM entry double-click UpperFilters and, under Value data, remove GEARAspiWDM > OK

    Create a system restore point beforehand and restart the computer after.

    However, if there is an application that uses the GEARAspiWDM, such as iTunes, just install the latest version of Gear drivers (4.021.1) and make no change to the registry:

    Also, since the computer is a Toshiba there is the following FAQ from Toshiba which also applies to Windows 10 upgrade:

    If the issue persists try uninstalling the two programs (TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator, TOSHIBA Disc Creator) if they are installed.

    Be sure to restart the computer afterward.

    I dont know whether to delete the registry key or modify it. I dont want to delete it, because this isn't my computer and I  dont want to mess it up. If I have to delete it, I will make a system restore point to go back if the PC fails. It is a Toshiba Satellite P75-A7200 (according to the sticker.) I also cannot get the file kbfltr.sys, so I dont know what the 2 files do, but I would probably want the kbfltr.sys file. Here is the screenshot of the key.

    For each of those two files can you right-click each file > Properties > Details

    What are the files versions?
