Can you check the following registry key?:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

At that registry key, in the right window, is there, under "Name", either an UpperFilters or LowerFilters value?

If so, for each of the UpperFilters and/or LowerFilters value, what is listed under "Data"?

    That UpperFilters value is normal so the issue may not be at that registry key.

    In the Device Manager can you double-click the device giving the Code 19 error  > Details, then choose "Class GuiD" from the drop-down menu under "Property".

    What is listed under "Value"?

    Hi TazJMT,

    There may be a different registry key involved.

    Can you check the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4d36e967-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}

    At that registry key, in the right window, is there, under "Name", either an UpperFilters or LowerFilters value?

    If so, for each of the UpperFilters and/or LowerFilters value, what is listed under "Data"?

    Hi Auggy,

    I've got this error going on now also, but it is for my "Portable Devices" H drive, I drive, J drive, and K drive (these are all various card reader drives. I just inserted a card into one of them (K, I think) and it seems to work fine, but still seems to be odd to get this error.

    I was prompted to look into this because in the "devices and printers" button, the computer itself has the error icon next to it and when running the troubleshooting, it says there is a problem with a "PnP" device. I only found the error code 19 of "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged" when looking at the computers properties (in devices and printers) and clicking on hardware (or by also going to the device manager).

    In case you are going to have me check for

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    I also have an UpperFilter of GEARAspiWDM and just updated it from one of the links you gave someone else. I then rebooted-still not fixed :(  If by some chance you would have me looking at a different place in the registry like you did for someone with a keyboard issue, I figured there was no harm in updating this driver anyway.

    Anyway you can help me with mine also?

    thanks

    John
