I've seen the suggestion to remove duplicate emails one by one.  However, if you delete a duplicate, the original email will be deleted from the mail server.  You would have to set the email to NOT delete the server email when the email is deleted.

My problem is ATT.net changed their setup requirements by changing the Pop and SMPT entries to simply Inbound.att.net and outbound.att.net.  When this occurs, it will re-download all the emails that you have downloaded before.  On one of our important computers, the emails went from like 6,000 to 28,000 emails.  It will take almost forever to delete these duplicate/triplicates!

I am having the exact same issue with a client's @bellsouth.net address. Had to change those settings and it duplicated all 22,000 emails to increase total box to 40k... The client wants to keep Windows Mail (on Vista) as opposed to changing the email client (my suggestion: Thunderbird with duplicate removal addon).

I CANNOT find a completely FREE software to remove the duplicates so I may end up purchasing "Dupe Remover for Windows Mail & Outlook Express. Here is the link if anyone's interested, http://www.topalt.com/duplicate-remover-outlook-express-windows-mail.

Looks like you aren't going to get an answer from microsoft!

Maybe you should try using a duplicate file finder to check the folders in the mail store?

    Hello GaryYerington,

Thank you for visiting this thread. I reviewed your post and we would like to ask some information from you for better understanding. I will enumerate them:

What can I do to get access to a web page when I put in my email adderess and phone number...

-Where did you access your email account? Is it via web browser (Internet Explorer) or in Windows Live Mail?

-If Windows Live Mail, what are the exact steps that you took in signing in to Windows Live Mail?

-What is your Windows Live Mail build version? (On your keyboard, press Alt+F+B)

-What email account are you using? Is it a Microsoft account or a third party account?

I can not go to next page because it tells my my adderess and phone # is a duplicate andit will not let me go to next page to reply to offer?

-What is the exact error message that you've encountered?

-Please provide us a screenshot of your issue.

For your issue about keep getting message from my anti virus, you may contact your Anti-virus support for assistance. They can best address your concern.

We look forward to hearing from you.

    Regards,

    Helene C.
