I had this problem and think I have found the cure. Open up the Nvidia Control Panel (probably bottom right tasks bar) left hand side of control panel click on Phys configurations, click on automatic and change to GForce (if this is what your computer runs) click apply - hopefully this may cure your problems. TDR is the Timeout, Detection, and Recoverycomponent in Windows. **** What happens is the Graphics Display driver for the installed graphics card stops responding. When this happens, windows will stop and restart the driver to fix the problem.
The most common reason for this issue is that the graphics device is being overloaded or used beyond its capabilities.
This happens most often when playing graphic intensive games, but can happen with any process that uses a large amount of graphic resources, such as when editing or creating videos.
Some things you can do to avoid these problems:
a. Make sure you are using the latest graphics device driver.
b. Manage your time working with programs that are graphic intensive, exit any other programs that might also use a large amount of resources.
I would suggest you to download and Install the latest graphic card drivers from the manufacturer’s website and check.
You can install Windows 7 drivers in compatibility mode if there are no Windows 8 compatible drivers.
Follow these steps:
a) Press the ‘Windows + W’ key on the keyboard.
b) Type compatibility in the search box and then press enter.
c) Click “Run programs made for previous versions of Windows” option from the list appeared in the left side.
d) Select the drivers and install.

I'm currently running the released version of Win 10 and so far I really don't like it. With Win 10's mandatory updates, I have no control over when and where these updates take place. It doesn't matter what my time requirements are, or depending on where I am, what my bandwidth is. I'm an experienced user and fully capable of running updates on my own...
This Video TDR failure happened while an update was taking place. I have no idea what updates were downloaded or being installed at the time. Since Win 10 was installed, I've also had a relatively constant problem with 100% disk usage slowing everything down. "Performance" shows 100% usage but there is really very little going on. That may have played a part in this failure.
Since installing Win 10, I've gone to the manufacturer's pages and updated drivers that are more current than those provided with Win 10.
This has only happened once. Hopefully customer feedback can help resolve some of these issues....
Got the same error while playing Diablo 3. Recently updated my graphics card. It was not overloaded as I can handle way higher graphic intese games than Diablo. This has never happened before the update but I've gotten other crashes and random temperature rises (from 35C up to 72C) which caused the graphics card to overheat and restart my computer. I'm not too sure why it happened. I've cleaned my computer and changed fans. I've now opened the chassi so the air flows better, so I no longer got a temerature problem. But this TDR failure seems kind of cheeky for me as I got a decent graphics card. I bought the computer 2 years ago.
