I had this problem and think I have found the cure. Open up the Nvidia Control Panel (probably bottom right tasks bar) left hand side of control panel click on Phys configurations, click on automatic and change to GForce (if this is what your computer runs) click apply - hopefully this may cure your problems. TDR is the Timeout, Detection, and Recoverycomponent in Windows. **** What happens is the Graphics Display driver for the installed graphics card stops responding. When this happens, windows will stop and restart the driver to fix the problem.
The most common reason for this issue is that the graphics device is being overloaded or used beyond its capabilities.
This happens most often when playing graphic intensive games, but can happen with any process that uses a large amount of graphic resources, such as when editing or creating videos.
Some things you can do to avoid these problems:
a. Make sure you are using the latest graphics device driver.
b. Manage your time working with programs that are graphic intensive, exit any other programs that might also use a large amount of resources.
I would suggest you to download and Install the latest graphic card drivers from the manufacturer’s website and check.
You can install Windows 7 drivers in compatibility mode if there are no Windows 8 compatible drivers.
Follow these steps:
a) Press the ‘Windows + W’ key on the keyboard.
b) Type compatibility in the search box and then press enter.
c) Click “Run programs made for previous versions of Windows” option from the list appeared in the left side.
d) Select the drivers and install.

So I got this error only after windows updated. My graphics card is fine. Microsoft sending me loser updates is why I left windows and went to ubuntu. The only problems is I need to use programs like Adobe Illustrator and Skype. Among others that work better on windows. I had no issues with blue screens using osx or ubuntu. I go back to windows and i'm getting blue screens after 1 day. Restoring my computer to a restore point now.

I just now received this error for the second time and i am starting to be concerned. The thing that worries me is the fact that i was not doing anything to cause it. I recently started hibernating my pc instead of shutting it down and since then i started getting this error. But when i hibernate my pc i am not playing any games or anything that would push my graphics card to the limit, and when i open my pc and "wake it up" my screen turns blue and restarts. I would really appreciate an answer.
