how do i connect laptop to smart tv using wi-fi..?? Any application related to it.??

I would like to  laptop to my smart tv using a coxtail cord

**1.**Is the TV Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) enabled?

**2.**What is the make and model of the TV and the laptop?

**3.**Are both the devices connected to the modem?

**4.**Do you have Windows Media Center installed on the computer?

**5.**Are you able to connect the laptop and the TV using an HDMI cable?

2. Samsung Smart TV Model # UN49M5300AF//Lenovo Desk Top Compute
3. No only the desktop computer, TV is under the cable, with Wi-Fi

4  Yes we have Windows Media

5.  The TV  connected with HDMI cable.

This might be a helpful without really answering the questions posed, just to get a quick; Is it possible?  Use Google Chrome , in the settings box (Top right corner at end of address bar), but below the tab bar, select cast.  If your TV is really smart, all TV aren't equally smart, like mine is not and needs a Roku stick to make the Chrome capable of displaying the web content on the TV.  Catch 22, the video must be running.  During the cast selection process, Chrome will display available connection points.   To recap, my TV is smart, has a youtube button and will play youtube videos, but you can not cast to it.  The Roku stick has to be used and the video must be running, not paused,  Additionally you have to get the selected location to change the graphic to a bulls eye to initiate the connection.  You may have only 1 location but you need to get the bull eye (target).  After rereading this instruction, I fear it may be to much bull for anyone, my apologies.
