how do i connect laptop to smart tv using wi-fi..?? Any application related to it.??

2. What is the make and model of the TV and the laptop?

3. Are both the devices connected to the modem?

4. Do you have Windows Media Center installed on the computer?

5. Are you able to connect the laptop and the TV using an HDMI cable?

What is the make and model of the TV and the laptop?    Samsung smart television (40ES6200) , and Dell Inspiron 1440. 3. Are both the devices connected to the modem?    yes. 4. Do you have Windows Media Center installed on the computer?    No WMC is not installed. 5. Are you able to connect the laptop and the TV using an HDMI cable?    my laptop is not having HDMI port and I want to connect it via any software that can be installed    like I want to stream my laptop screen on TV over Wi-Fi connection like Intel net gear software. thanks

there is nothing like Intel WiDi included in Windows 8 so you can't use your TV

as a wireless display and show your desktop, etc. etc. There are options to

stream media, etc.

Microsoft has to certify the device for it to work with Start Screen Windows

Store Apps. For Play To media streaming, you would need to use the classic

explorer/libraries interface.

What exactly do you want to stream?

Just like when laptop is connected to TV via HDMI . and I want it via Wi-Fi connection.

there is nothing included in Windows 8 that will let you use your TV as a

wireless display. if you search the web for "wireless hdmi" there are third

party hardware add-ons that may do what you want (read reviews and try to buy

from someone with a good return policy)
