Since resolving an issue with my ATI Video Driver recently, I have started getting the following errors, once a day, which cause my system to restart unexpectedly.

I believe this to be a driver issue, even though it looks like a hardware issue.

When it happens, I am usually watching TV on it via my XBOX Media Center Extender.

Event ID 20 - WHEA-Logger

A fatal hardware error has occurred.

Component: AMD Northbridge

Error Source: Machine Check Exception

Error Type: HyperTransport Watchdog Timeout Error

Processor APIC ID: 0

My Computer is a Dell XPS 7100 with an AMD Phenom II X6 1045T Processor and ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series graphics adaptor.

All Dell diagnostics run cleanly and successfully.

Can anyone advise what to do to investigate further please?

    I am still trying to find an answer to be honest.

    Microsoft should be dealing with this given the number of computers that are having this problem. It was suggested that the problem was caused by a Microsoft update which resolved the security integrity problem with Intel processors but induced this problem into AMD based systems.

    I was advised to remove the update KB4056892 but it reinstalls itself. Removing the update does not resolve this problem anyway.

    It was then suggested that we update using KB4073290 but this does not work either.

    no because AMD drivers are not compat with the newer windows update so AMD needs to get a new update then

    The processor- and resulting patches and patch-issues have nothing to do with the AMD Northbridge crashes this thread is about. The AMD Northbridge crashes were introduced by the 1709 update.

    this is what I got today so far the same thing you guys getting I think right ?   I contact AMD to let them know they need new drivers for windows 10 pro 64 updates each time microsoft has them so hope AMD get off there lazy asses to fix this too !!!
