Event ID 20 - WHEA-Logger - AMD Northbridge

Since resolving an issue with my ATI Video Driver recently, I have started getting the following errors, once a day, which cause my system to restart unexpectedly.

I believe this to be a driver issue, even though it looks like a hardware issue.

When it happens, I am usually watching TV on it via my XBOX Media Center Extender.

Event ID 20 - WHEA-Logger

A fatal hardware error has occurred.

Component: AMD Northbridge

Error Source: Machine Check Exception

Error Type: HyperTransport Watchdog Timeout Error

Processor APIC ID: 0

The details view of this entry contains further information.

My Computer is a Dell XPS 7100 with an AMD Phenom II X6 1045T Processor and ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series graphics adaptor.

All Dell diagnostics run cleanly and successfully.

Can anyone advise what to do to investigate further please?

This error started after a December update, the system automatically restarts if multiple AMD users are having these issues, then it is between Microsoft and AMD. But my worry is that Microsoft has not given any feedback till now, I think it is highly unacceptable.

Hi everyone, ive got the same problem since the creators update of Windows 10.

Turning off Fast Start seemed to help first but unfortunately after a while my computer just rebooted again.

Jesus Christ, so happy I am not alone! I've been experiencing this problem for a while now! Started about a month ago for me too, I will be trying to fast startup solution posted here and hope for the best. Nothing helped until now, clean install of GPU drivers and all the stuff, absolutely nothing, I hope microsoft fixes this issue. Will be trying it now and I will come with the results few days after this post.
