Event ID 20 - WHEA-Logger - AMD Northbridge

Since resolving an issue with my ATI Video Driver recently, I have started getting the following errors, once a day, which cause my system to restart unexpectedly.

I believe this to be a driver issue, even though it looks like a hardware issue.

When it happens, I am usually watching TV on it via my XBOX Media Center Extender.

Event ID 20 - WHEA-Logger

A fatal hardware error has occurred.

Component: AMD Northbridge

Error Source: Machine Check Exception

Error Type: HyperTransport Watchdog Timeout Error

Processor APIC ID: 0

The details view of this entry contains further information.

My Computer is a Dell XPS 7100 with an AMD Phenom II X6 1045T Processor and ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series graphics adaptor.

All Dell diagnostics run cleanly and successfully.

Can anyone advise what to do to investigate further please?

Alas it's not the same for me. I made sure that my notebook was not infected (actually it was and I had to perform several cleanings) yet, after only two weeks since last restart, the reboot happened again - even though my notebook is certainly updated to 1803.

I will keep this thread updated if anything good happens.

Mine has stopped too. I'm not sure what fixed it. I upgraded from the Home to the Pro edition. Also, I updated with the Cumulative Update. After that I updated to version 1803. I haven't had a problem since.

I haven't had this issue in over a month after I made these changes:

    1. Disabled fast boot up
    2. Disabled integrated graphics

I'm not sure which one did the trick, or if they are both required, but I'm not going to mess with it now that it's working.
